Jason Oliva: Open Studio Thursday February 6th and Valentine's Day February 14th 2014.

Valentine's Day Jason Oliva

Sterling silver Rose pendant with Rose scarf.

Jason Oliva NYC ArtistWhy paint a Rose?

I think it would be fair to say that as far as flowers go, the Rose is universally recognizable, perhaps in part due to its close association with matters of the heart  … in all its fluctuating states! I guess I had this in mind when I painted the original Rose painting back in 2008, while still living in England. But the real inspiration behind this work was in fact my Grandmother, whose name is Rose.
